Our Story: A Passion for the Outdoors
In the heart of Ouray, amidst the rugged beauty of the Colorado San Juan mountain range, Basecamp Ouray was born from a deep-rooted love for adventure and the great outdoors. Our journey began in 2019, driven by the vision of our founder, Logan Tyler, a world-class climber with an unwavering passion for pushing the limits of possibility in the mountains, business, and life.

The History of Basecamp Ouray
2019: Launch of Basecamp Bouldering, a boutique bouldering gym in Ouray.
2020: Shift to mountain guiding, marking our first winter season of ice guiding.
2022: Creation of the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata, a testament to our innovative spirit.
2023: Expansion with new partners, Clint Cook and Scott Rowley, strengthening our mission and vision.

If we cannot rectify the situation to your satisfaction, we pledge to offer you the choice of a complimentary spot on another of our tours, subject to availability.
