This three-day guided experience across Telluride, Ouray, and Gold Mountain Via Ferratas is the ultimate test of adventure. Your guide, either a Mountain Trip or Basecamp Ouray AMGA certified or trained guide, will ensure a safe and memorable journey with all the necessary gear! Each Via Ferrata offers its unique challenges and beauty.
Whether scaling the heights of Telluride, crossing the river vistas of Ouray, or embarking on the exclusive Gold Mountain Ranch Via Ferrata, each moment of this expedition is crafted to leave you with an indelible impression of the San Juan Mountains' splendor.
Day one will start you on the the Telluride Via Ferrata then day two you will explore the Ouray Via Ferrata. The last day will culminate on the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata!

This classic via ferrata route is a high-alpine traverse, and features an extraordinary thrill as only a small portion of the route is cabled. The rest is essentially a narrow hiking trail with a precarious 300-foot-plus drop off close to your side. Many choose to traverse this route with a guide as they can help provide additional protection through some of the uncabled sections of trail. With incredible views of Bridal Veil Falls and surrounding mountain peaks, this is easily the most scenic of the three courses—not to say the others aren’t scenic too!
Expect an exhilarating 2-4 hour experience that combines physical activity with stunning natural beauty. You'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Uncompahgre River and lush surroundings, accompanied by the river's powerful roar. The adventure features two unique river crossings: one on a single steel cable and another on a 75ft suspension ladder.
This trip is suitable for all levels, from experienced climbers to beginners, offering a unique way to enjoy the rock and scenery. No previous climbing experience is required, but a reasonable level of fitness is necessary, along with the ability to climb a ladder and handle heights between 10-40 feet.
The Gold Mountain Via Ferrata, distinguished by a 300 ft suspension bridge, offers a unique perspective of the San Juan Mountains' breathtaking vistas. More than a climbing path this route is an exclusive journey into the majesty of nature. Managed by Basecamp Ouray, it provides a secluded and personal adventure, a world away from the crowds. Reserved for those seeking a lifetime adventure, it promises a tranquil and awe-inspiring experience in the mountains, leaving you with unforgettable memories.

For a Via Ferrata, essential gear includes a UIAA-certified climbing helmet, a climbing harness, and a Via Ferrata lanyard. Additionally, you should have gloves, appropriate footwear (like hiking or approach shoes with good grip), water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing. It's also wise to carry a small backpack for personal items.
